‘’ KICHNA BHAGWAN ! ’’

‘’KICHNA BHAGWAN!’’                                   Kalyan (E)

(From my diary)                                          22.08.2011

Subsequent to the daily routine jobs, I started going through The Times of India.  I don’t have to go anywhere in the morning today – I confirmed myself and hence pulled out a chair to the balcony.  Sitting there, I went through the headlines of the newspaper.  Mostly, they were about Anna Hazare.

It’s drizzling outside.  I looked at the greenery at the hillside, garden attached to the park, Shiva Temple etc.  A very beautiful look indeed!  It’s almost empty at the Club House area.  There will be crowd in the evenings at that area and everywhere in the compound.

From the nearby Radhakrishna Temple, I could hear a devotional song. So sweet! For a moment, enjoying the music, I just imagined  Radhakrishna and Radhakrishna  leela in my mind.

‘’Darwaja kholo… Kichna Bhagwan’’

What?  I could not believe what I heard – So soon Krishna Bhagwan appeared for me! Was I dreaming?

No, it was voice of a small baby outside the front door.  The door was opened with the grill locked from inside.  It’s not Malootty – my granddaughter who is staying in Thakurli –I knew;  and went to the door.

‘’Grandpa, Kichna Bhagwan.’’

I see – it’s Srishti, the Bihari baby.  They are our neighbors.  Yes, I remember – her mother, Khushboo did tell yesterday that  today, as part of Janmashtami programs, Srishti will be one of the little Krishnas’ at the playschool nearby and Amma (my wife) also has to accompany them.

Srishti also calls me Grandpa as same as Malu.

I told them to come in telling that Amma (she calls so, same as Malu’s mother i.e. my daughter Priya) is in the bathroom.

At that time, Khushboo received a call to her mobile telephone and she started talking in Bhojpuri and went inside.  It could be her husband, I guessed.

Bhagwan started his (here, her) naughty actions – jumping, running here and there.

After a while, my wife entered there after finishing her bath.

‘’Idli and chutney are ready there in the kitchen. You may have it.  I will be late.’’

''OK, you carry on.''

Bhagwan and company made a move to the play school.

‘’Tata bolna Grandpa ko’’, Khushboo told Srishti.

‘’Grandpa, tata.’’

‘’Tata’’

I stood behind the door watching them at the lift till they disappear.

‘’ K i c h n a   B h a g w a n !’’ – I murmured smilingly and  then went back to the balcony to read  the newspaper again.
